China Government policies and measures.

          In late August, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) jointly issued an action plan to harmonise the accounting system for carbon emissions from all sectors across the country.

          Thisis a key step taken by the Chinese government to evaluate and account for carbon emissions in a reliable way. In late 2021, CISA prepared its own accounting methodology for

          CO2 emissions in the steel industry, but the standard is not compulsory and just serves as a recommendation for its member companies
